The Gothenburg Primary School Administration is one of the largest school administrations in Sweden. We are responsible for the city's municipal schools from preschool class to grade nine, adapted primary school, culture school, and after-school care. The administration has 138 municipal primary schools where nearly 47,000 students attend school every day. The entire administration has about 9,700 employees who collectively work to develop and take care of the operations - together we pave the way for the school of the future.

JOB DESCRIPTION
We are now looking for a school social worker for a one-year temporary position.
Backegårdsskolan is a municipal school located beautifully between Lake Bergsjön and Komettorget. The school has two classes from preschool to grade 6. Currently, the school has about 270 students and 45 staff.
The school is characterized by a warm, friendly, and open climate. We see differences and various opinions as an asset that enriches and is a natural part of development and human interaction. To thrive at Backegårdsskolan, you need to enjoy working with the whole person - putting the student at the center.
Everyone at the school works to ensure that all students feel welcome and safe and that they feel they have the opportunity to reach their full potential academically, emotionally, and socially. We believe in a 'we' - that it is all of us together who work at the school that can make a difference for the students. The student health staff collaborates closely with other staff at the school and participates in several school-wide forums.
The majority of our students have a migration background, and we focus heavily on students' language development. All teachers receive collegial professional development to create the best conditions for our students. The purpose of the education is for students to become active and skilled readers and writers who dare and can make their voices heard in a democratic society.
As a school social worker at Backegårdsskolan, you work closely with the students and are visible and active in many parts of the school's operations. You will work closely with other staff at the school, be part of the school's student health team, and contribute with psychosocial competence at the organizational, group, and individual levels.
Based on your profession, you will suggest appropriate measures, strategies, and methods to provide students with the conditions for increased goal achievement and well-being. You play an important role in the school's common values work. In addition to individual student and parent conversations, you will work with both students, parents, and colleagues in groups and have contact with external actors, such as social services, child and adolescent psychiatry, and the police.
As a school social worker in the Primary School Administration, you will participate in a professional development group that meets regularly with a professional developer for the area, and you will also receive external supervision in a group every month. In the Primary School Administration, all professions document in PMO.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who:
- Have a degree in social work or other relevant education and experience working with children and adolescents
- Have good collaboration skills and work solution-focused based on a salutogenic approach
- Develop contacts and collaboration with other actors and authorities in child and youth matters
- Work independently and in teams
- Have knowledge of the curriculum's goals, values, and views on learning
As a person, you are stable, empathetic, unpretentious, and secure in your professional role. You have a strong commitment to the psychosocial situation of children and adolescents and the ability to meet people in different life situations. You show respect, consideration, and care in your interactions and are secure in difficult situations.
You enable children's storytelling and contribute to elevating students' participation and perspectives. When things change in the work, you can quickly adjust your approach and see opportunities in changes. Furthermore, you have good collaboration skills.
We plan to conduct interviews on April 14-15.
